Our 2nd December update adds alert counters to the web app, allows for disabling the opt-in/out from “Services & Systems” categories and adds a new encoding format to the SIGNL4 webbhook.
New webhook payload format
The SIGNL4 webhook now also digest payload of ‘application/x-www-form-urlencoded‘ type. A payload/webhook call of this kind would like:
POST /webhook/ihdm29y8 HTTP/1.1
Host: connect.signl4.com
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
Content-Length: 73
Title=Fire%20alert&Message=Fire%20alert&Param1=Value%201&Param2=Value%202
We now also support sending of files, e.g. images, through the SIGNL4 webhook. Read more here (requires a SIGNL4 account): https://account.signl4.com/manage/Apps/Webhook
Alert Counts
We have started to add dashboard functionality to the web portal app. When you log in, you will now see the alert counts of the current and past duty along with the counts for the last 24 hours. This is the beginning of rolling out dashboard features.
Services & Systems category subscription
A while ago we introduced the option to opt-in/out from ‘Service & Systems’ categories. This represents an additional, powerful mechanism to route alerts based on personal preferences or responsibilities for certain services or systems. The feature also provides for muting categories so while you’d still see alerts of certains types, you would not get notified. However, the feature also had a little downside when user accidentially opted out from certain alerts and would miss those.
Hence, we are now introducing the option to switch off category subscription. At a later stage we will introduce central administrative control over the subscription to categories.
